Brooks and Dunn instrumental in new playground in Shreveport KTBS News
Country music superstars Brooks and Dunn, who include Shreveport native Kix Brooks, were in Shreveport today to help build a new playground for the Queensborough Friendship house. Brooks and Ronnie Dunn were presented this year's Home Depot Humanitarian Award at the Academy of Country Music awards and were given the opportunity to build a playground in the city of their choice. Brooks chose a Friendship House in his hometown. Dunn chose one to be in Nashville. Brooks and Dunn spent the morning working side by side with hundreds of volunteers to build a playground on Darien Street for the estimated 8,500 children who live in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood.
